Debate-gate

It appears Democratic candidate for Governor Virg Bernero and GOP nominee Rick Snyder aren't any closer to debating before the November election.  Discussions between the two campaigns about debate-specifics (including where and when) have broken down.  This news, of course, has many political observers across the state adding their two cents about 'debate-gate.' Here's a rundown of what they're saying:

Over at annarbor.com the headline was, "Not only is Rick Snyder a nerd, he's also a wimp, says Virg Bernero.

The Freep Press puts it this way, "Virg Bernero piles on pressure for debates with Rick Snyder."

And, Michigan Radio's very own Political Analyst, Jack Lessenberry says, "...as of now, it looks like debates won’t happen for one simple reason. Snyder doesn’t want to debate... He is sitting on an enormous lead in the polls. People want change, and want to believe in him, so a lot of people are assuming that their positions on the issues are his. In reality, we don’t really know where he stands on many things. Once we find out what Snyder stands for, he is almost guaranteed to lose some people."
