Headlined "Love Does Not Hit," a wanted poster has been released by Silent Observer, a Grand Rapids crime-stopper organization, to bring attention to Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

The poster shows 24 people with outstanding arrest warrants on domestic violence charges in the Kent County cities of Grand Rapids and Wyoming.

"We're asking people that know the location of those wanted subjects to call Silent Observer anonymously as to their whereabouts," said Chris Cameron, director of Silent Observer.

Cameron said she received 10 tips leading to two arrests within one day of the poster's distribution this week.

"We know that the people pictured are innocent until proven guilty," said Cameron. "But these people need to follow through with due process and the disposition needs to be made on these cases." This is necessary to achieve closure and justice for the victims of domestic violence, Cameron said.

Police in Grand Rapids and Wyoming provided the photos and information about the 24 suspects on the list, according to Cameron.

Sgt. Chad McKersie of the Grand Rapids Police Department said the list includes some of the more recent and more serious cases from Grand Rapids. He said domestic violence is a big problem, and the people listed on the poster are just a small fraction of the people with outstanding domestic violence arrest warrants in Kent County.
