The Flint police department is looking for 100 volunteers to help patrol city neighborhoods during Halloween.

The holiday falls on a Saturday this year.

Police Chief James Tolbert says the volunteers can help police by reporting suspicious activity.

“Our whole purpose is to make the environment safe for the kids and to make sure the city is safe also,” says Tolbert.

Detroit and Saginaw are two other Michigan cities urging residents to help stop arsonists from spreading fires during the Halloween weekend.
