Kalamazoo College responds to online threat

James Allenspach

An on-line threat has shaken a west Michigan college campus.

Officials at Kalamazoo College are asking the FBI for help in investigating a threatening note posted on an online campus message board this week.

The message is described as “racist, anti-Semitic, sexist, and homophobic”.

It contained a direct threat against college faculty.

“At 900 am 3/5/15 I am going to start systematically executing faculty at Kalamazoo U, that will teach them the value of campus carry.”

No incidents were reported on campus today.

Security on the West Michigan campus was stepped up, even though officials do not believe it is a “credible” threat.

The incident is being investigated as a possible hate crime.
