More than 80 women and girls are scheduled this week to speak at the sentencing hearing of former sports doctor Larry Nassar.

About 140 women and girls have accused former sports doctor Larry Nassar of sexually assaulting them while he worked for Michigan State University and the U.S. women's Olympic gymnastics team. More than 80 women and girls are scheduled to speak this week at his sentencing hearing.

Senior news analyst Jack Lessenberry tells Morning Editionhost Doug Tribou about what has stood out to him so far about the victims' statements.

They also discuss MSU's role in the case, Senate Minority Leader JimAnanich's plan to reevaluate the state’s infrastructure, and Chinese automaker GAC's decision to start selling cars in the U.S. in 2019.

Doug Tribou joined the Michigan Public staff as the host of Morning Edition in 2016. Doug first moved to Michigan in 2015 when he was awarded a Knight-Wallace journalism fellowship at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
