This very hot summer week is a great time to find some new music to enjoy, preferably indoors and in front of an air conditioner.

"No. 1" by Major Murphy
First up is Major Murphy, who released their debut album "No. 1" this spring. Their track "One Day" has racked up over 790,000 plays on Spotify. You can see them live in Grand Rapids on July 25 at The Pyramid Scheme as part of the Farm Block Fest, in downtown Grand Rapids as part of the GRAM on the Green Series, or in September at the Audiotree Music Festival in Kalamazoo.
"Come What May" by Brian Koenigsknecht
Kalamazoo singer-songwriter Brian Koenigsknecht released his latest album “Roswell” in May. The album features well-known West Michigan artists like Kate Pillsbury and Emilee Petersmark of The Crane Wives, producer Brad Frank, Carrie McFerrin, and others. You can catch Koenigsknecht live at Rupert’s Brew House in Kalamazoo on July 21, and again on August 4 at Kalamazoo’s Ribfest, where he’ll perform with Pillar to Post.
"Just Good Night" by Michigan Rattlers
Michigan Rattlers, whose members grew up in Petoskey, Michigan, recently landed on Rolling Stone’s “10 Best Country and Americana Songs of the Week” with their new single “Just Good Night,” and played at Bonnaroo and Electric Forest this year. Their upcoming full-length debut album is slated to be released in mid-September. In the meantime, you can see them live this Thursday in Ann Arbor as a featured act in the Sonic Lunch series.
