Man makes case for DTE, Enbridge pipeline from beyond the grave

Sep 13, 2016

Are people writing from beyond the grave to support a proposed natural gas line that would run from Ohio into Southeast Michigan and on into Ontario?

According to a story in today's Detroit Free Press, the answer is yes.

A form letter was sent to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission that showed strong support for the proposed Nexus Pipeline. The letter was dated Aug. 15, 2016 and came from Ohio native Glenn England. Nothing out of the ordinary there. That is, until it was discovered that Glenn England died in 1998.

How did this happen? Detroit Free Press writer Keith Matheny joined Stateside to provide some answers to a very strange situation.

Listen to the full interview above to hear what happened, and how DTE Energy and Enbridge Energy responded to the story.  (Subscribe to the Stateside podcast on iTunes, Google Play, or with this RSS link)
