Michigan Radio Wins Fourteen Michigan AP Awards

Michigan Radio was the winner of fourteen awards for news coverage this weekend from the Michigan Associated Press Media Editors. The station was recognized with seven First Place awards, including Outstanding News Operation. The station also received seven Second Place awards. Michigan Radio competes in the large market radio category, which includes both public and commercial radio stations that serve Michigan’s largest market of Detroit.

The Michigan Associated Press Media Editors competition features reports, feature stories, documentaries, photography as well as newscasts and sportscasts that aired in 2017 from newspapers, TV and radio stations across Michigan. The awards were formally presented at a ceremony on Sunday, April 22 in Lansing. Also at that gathering, Michigan Radio News Director Vincent Duffy was elected to the board of the Michigan Associated Press Media Editors representing large-market radio stations.
