In this morning's news: right-to-work and the new emergency manager law are in effect
Michigan is now the nation’s 24th right-to-work state. The law took effect yesterday. Opponents of the law held vigils yesterday and vowed to continue to try to repeal the law in court and through legislative action. Supporters of the law say there’s no reason to fear right-to-work.
Michigan's new emergency manager law also went into effect yesterday. The Reverend Al Sharpton’s "National Action Network" is joining the fight against the law. The group joined unions, clergy, and other civil rights groups in filing a federal lawsuit.
More than 20 Republicans are calling on their national committeeman to resign. Dave Agema copied and pasted an article criticizing homosexuals to his Facebook page this week. Some of the statements are not true, others come from outdated or controversial studies.
