In NCAA men's and women's tourneys, Michigan universities chasing Final Four dreams

Michigan men's basketball coach John Beilein is hoping for a deep run in this year's NCAA tournament. The Wolverines are the third seed in the West region.

The Michigan Wolverines are still dancing in the NCAA men's basketball tournament.

In the opening round, UM beat Montana 61-47 Thursday night in Wichita, Kansas. The Wolverines are the third seed in the West region. They'll face sixth-seeded University of Houston on Saturday night.

Michigan State plays its opening-round game tonight at Little Caesar's Arena in Detroit. The third-seeded Spartans will face Bucknell. The teams are in the Midwest region of the tournament bracket. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:10 p.m.

In the NCAA women's tournament, Michigan will face Northern Colorado today in the opening round in Waco, Texas. Game time is 5 p.m.

Central Michigan takes on Louisiana State University Saturday at 11 a.m. in Columbus, Ohio.

The Michigan State women did not qualify for the NCAA tourney, but the Spartans are playing in the Women's National Invitation Tournament

MSU beat Cincinnati 81-75 in East Lansing on Thursday. On Monday, they'll host the winner of tonight's game between Toledo and Wright State.
