This November Michigan voters will cast ballots in 15 races for the U.S. House of Representatives. Right now, two of those races are considered "toss-ups", according to NPR  - the race between Mark Schauer (D) and Tim Walberg (R)  in the 7th District, and the race between Dan Benishek (R) and Gary McDowell (D) in the 1st District.

Now, the Detroit Free Press is reporting on a poll that says a third race is getting close. Kathleen Gray reports,

A new independent poll has the dean of the U.S. House, Rep. John Dingell, trailing his Republican opponent, Rob Steele, by 4 percentage points.

Dingell's campaign reacted, according to the Freep, saying the group that did the poll, the Rossman Group of Lansingand Team TelCom, "is a Republican front and is contradicted by other polls in recent weeks."

While the Rossman poll says it's close other polls disagree. The New York Times says, as of October 1st, Dingell is pretty much a lock. They have his chance of a win "based on 100,000 simulations with random variation in the local and national political environment" pegged at 100%.
