Governor Rick Snyder will be sworn in tomorrow for his second and final term. The inauguration ceremony will take place at the state Capitol.

Governor Snyder says he wants to start his second term focusing on workforce development – with an emphasis on trade skills.

“That’s something we can do a much better job on that’s huge for Michiganders to have better careers, better lives, and make us more competitively advantaged,” he says.

“The whole issue of career tech education and the skilled trades. That’s a top priority because there’s tens of thousands of open jobs, great well-paying jobs that require additional skills in manufacturing to agriculture.”

The governor will deliver an inaugural address, but is expected to provide more details on his plans when he delivers his State of the State address on January 20th

Attorney General Bill Schuette and Secretary of State Ruth Johnson will also begin their second terms tomorrow . All three are Republicans.
