Stateside for Thursday, September 27th, 2012

On today's program, We take an in-depth look at one of the most controversial questions on the November ballot: the fate of PA4, the Emergency Manager law in Michigan.

And, we talk about the National Writers Series, putting the literary spotlight on Traverse City, where big-name authors and their readers get to know each other.

We also touch base with the founder of "Count Me In," Nell Merlino. The group helps Southeast Michigan women who own small businesses boost their earning power.

We kick off the show with Mike Duggan. The possible Mayoral Candidacy of Mike Duggan is going to be closely watched. He's a former aide to Wayne County Executive Edward McNamara, former Wayne County prosecutor, and now CEO of the Detroit Medical Center.

Yesterday he filed the paperwork needed to set up a campaign committee for a possible run to become the next Mayor of Detroit.
